Mr Appliance of Middlesex & Sommeset County, NJ

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

WE had Mr Appliance of Middlesex & Sommerset County come to our rental property to fix an issue with the clothes dryer. Here is a sequence of events:

- were told the vent was blocked; paid nearly $215 for vent cleaning vs. our usual $79

- then when it did not work, were told the coil and igniter was not working - paid another $175 [total $390]

- then were told that the thermostat is not working - wanted another $98 but agreed to $45

- we just finished installing the thermostat and the technicians informs that it is a vent problem and that they are not specialist and that we need to call a specialist.

So, after 4 trips and with hours spent we are back to square one. We have now decided to call the vendor who regularly services our vents and has expertise in this area.

I have called the company once to ask the question as to how they can justify recommending nearly $400 of repairs when dryers can be purchased as cheaply as $500.

I will never call this company or any of the Mr Appliance agents ever again.

Mr Appliance Oven Repair Review from Willoughby, Ohio

Today a worker came out from Mr. appliance and he told me that my stove ignitor needed to be fixed ( i only had the stove for a year)and that it would cost $467.95 to fix. I really wonted them to fix the door brackets and that was it. I just feel that he gave me some out of the world price so that i would not want to get it repaired so that they could charge me $96 dollars and some change for ***....world class care *** them and i will never use there service again. With that price i can just go buy a new stove. There are not many honest business out here anymore and MR . APPLIANCE is one.

DO NOT EVER CALL MR. APPLIANCE IN THE CONROE/WOODLANDS ARE.

THEY CAME IN A LITERALLY SABOTAGED MY WASHER SO THEIR SISTER COMPANY COULD COME FIX THE FLOORS...... LET ME EXPLAIN.

We had an issue with our washing machine and called on Mr. Appliance to do the job.

One hour after they left my kitchen was flooded ( i just had laminate floors put in). The issue to begin with was that the washer wasn't draining. By the time they left not only did the washer not drain but they had broken the water line. So whilst I am thinking the thing is fixed ,there is a slow leak that has ruined my floors in my entire kitchen.

To make matters worse, we called the company back to complain and they send out someone to look over the floors and see what could be fone. In the midst of this meeting, the original *** showed up and began to scold me telling mr that this is what happens every time he tries to cut someone a break and how ungrateful I . Theeeen proceeds to let me know that the owner of the company he works for is also the grandfather of the young man who owned the floor restoration company who was here to look at the damage to the floor. All in all the two have a guge racket going and my brand new floor is completely ruined.

To make it all the reality nightmare, the *** blamed us for the leak and who was waiting in the wings? The grandson who owned the floor company ready to give me an estimate on new flooring.

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS AS POSSIBLE. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND TRY TO MAKE WORK FOR THEIR FAMILIES AS WELL.

Service call cost me $142.50.

--- Two guys (senior guy plus a trainee) come at 400p to look at refrigerator and microwave.

--- Before he moves switch to ON, senior guy spends 1/2 hour trying to train younger guy and to diagnose ice-maker which I had turned off for safety reasons after detecting problem with refrigerator side cooling.

--- Senior guy says side-by-side GE Profile not blowing air on refrigerator side, which will be almost $500 to fix. He doesn't say how or why.

I press for details. He finally says that he never fixed one of these and that he doesn't know how to do a fan changeout. $95 wasted.

--- The senior guy then tried to heat a cup of water in the microwave, after I told him it was not heating. He then tells me it's going to cost $600 to fix the microwave for labor and a new magnetron, diode and capacitor.

I pressed him for details on the parts and he says $450 for the magnetron, which I knew from checking with GE parts was only $95.

--- At 445p they leave after telling me they would get right back to me with a description of the problems and an estimate to repair after the part comes in. Three days later, still no feedback. --- This occurred in Texas, where people get shot for being ***.

This is not a threat, just an observation. So, I figure it's just a matter of time before the level of advancing lawlessness will remove such rip-off *** from the earth.

Mr Appliance NO SHOW

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On thier website they have Saturday and Sunday appointments available. So when our dryer went out on a Saturday I went online and selected a Sunday 8-1200 appointment.

I even got an email CONFIRMATION of appointment. Well guess what, I wasted 5 hours of my Sunday waiting for a repairmain that did not show up. I called the number 3 times, first two times operator said they will reach out to him and have him call me. Never happened.

#rd call I was advised they do not o Sunday appointments so I asked then why do I have an enail confirmation AND on thier website it says they do. No answer. So we wasted a Sunday where we could have got things done. Monday morning a rep called and said they were on my way to the house to do repairs and he said he left a voicemail Saturday saying they do not work Sundays.

No voicemail was recieved. Talk about a very uncaring, unresponsive company.

I would not let them fix my dryer for free now. I should have known when I saw they have the highest service call fee out there, but I was needing service asap.

Poor Service

Mr. Appliance came to my home 3 times to fix my Bosch dishwasher. On the third visit, at a cost of over $500 they replace several parts and indicated that all was well. About a week later the Dishwasher was leaking again and no longer working. I called them 3 times with either no response or I was told someone would call back and finally they simply refused to return and make the repair at all. I'm not even sure that the work they did was necessary it did not address the issues we called them about. Avoid this company at all costs; dishonest and unprofessional.

Very rude on the phone and unconcerned about customers. We moved into a new home December 21, 2015 and smelled gas. We called the installer and Frigidaire to report the issue. Frigidaire scheduled Mr. Appliance to come look at the stove. A bad install was blamed for the leak and another part was also ordered. Another appointment was scheduled for 2 weeks out! The builder got involved and said part was to be expedited. I called Mr. Appliance back; he said no record of that and 2 weeks it would be. Part came in and was installed. Next time we used it was with company over and the oven wouldn't heat. Called them back. "Not our problem, you have to call the manufacturer." Another company was called in and they were just as bad.

MW oven diagnosis

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The problem I reported was that the door sensor on my Bosch MW oven was malfunctioning some of the time and showing the door open. We had to push and wiggle the door to get the MW to operate. The tech showed up and in two minutes concluded that two switches were defective and had to be replaced ($380). If the switches were defective the unit wouldn't have operated at all. I did not agree with the diagnosis and after the tech left I took off the external cover (12 screws and about 20 minutes) then unscrewed the switch housing (2 screws and about 1 minute), lubricated the two switch activators, reseated the switch housing and firmly screwed the unit back in place (5 minutes), put the external cover back on (10 minutes) and the unit is back to working fine. Prospective customers (victims?) should know what level of expertise and "service" to expect for the $80 diagnostic fee.

The worst service I ever had.

I went the whole Christmas season without a refrigerator, this included having parties and all. In early November my refrigerator only 6 years old took a dump the day before I was going away for a hunting trip. So the wife did not want a repair man in the house without me being home. So I schedule it for the day I got back. They were a no show not even a phone call saying they could not make it. I call them the next day after 10:00amto see why no call or why there is not a repair man at my house now. They said he got busy and they can schedule someone to be at my house next week. Told them to go pound it. Called another repair company and they said they could be there the next day. The tech shows up and says that the compressor is bad and he would have to order one but we would have to pay for it. So I give him a check for $295 and the part would take 3 to 5 days to come in. Part comes in and they replace it and said for the refrigerator to run for 24 hours to get cold. We paid them another $235. It does not get cold so, we place another call to them. They are a no show saying the tech called out sick and not sure when he could come again. They did come out the next day and recharge the refrigerator and gave the same story to wait 24 hours for the refrigerator to get cold. Well it does not get cold and called them again. Now a different tech comes out to troubleshoot with the first tech that was there in which he is the helper now which I find that kind of strange. Now he tell us it the main board that need to be changed and it takes the part would take 3 to 5 days to come in. Part comes in and they replace it and gave the same story to wait 24 hours. It still does not work. They come it again to troubleshoot and this time said they could not fix it. So I said I want a refund for my money and they could have all their parts back in which they said they would. After many phone calls and hearing many lies, I am still waiting for it. We could not wait any more and went out got one. I hoping the refund comes back to help pay for the new one but, I think I will be calling a lawyer for this.

Rip Off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Had Mr. Appliance out on the 28th of January, 2016 to replace a "Lid Switch" on my Whirlpool Thin Twin Washer/Dryer Combo.

He said he did not have the part and it would have to be ordered. He also told me that the entire unit would have to be pulled out and repaired from the back, and that the Total Cost would be $315.21. My Son paid $100.00 Deposit. After I had received this information, I looked this up on U-Tube, and come to find out, the unit did not have to be pulled out.

I went to Appliance Warehouse in Marietta, Ga. and got the part for $32.85 and my Son and his Friend replaced the Lid Switch in about 45 minutes. Mr.

Appliance Invoice states: Expert Appliance Repair, it should say "Total Rip-Off". They say my Son will get $21 of his $100 Deposit back, I think he should get 1/2 ($50) back because the Service Man said it would have to be repaired from the back of the unit, when there was no way, when all repairs are done on the front of the unit.

Mr Appliance Washing Machine Repair Review from Mundelein, Illinois

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Was having trouble locating a repair tech for my Miele washing machine. Every time I entered Miele washing machine repair into my search engine Mr. Appliance came up. When I called for the appointment I asked if Mr. Appliance was an authorized service company to work on Miele and was told yes. The technician came, still inferring that he was authorized to work on Miele washing machines. He stated which part was not functioning and said he was going to see if he could get the part. I should have suspected at that point that he was prevaricating in reference to his authorization to work on Miele equipment. I was finally informed that he could not get the part needed. That Miele would only ship to certain areas of Illinois. Really??!! After I wrote the service call check out and gave it to him I thought that there would be burn marks on my floor he left so fast. Called Miele and found out that he was NOT a Miele certified repair person. I have arranged to have the correct repair person come out. Miele told me that I should have requested a Miele certified technician. Moral of the story is: Call the manufacturer first. They will inform you how to get the correct and certified technicians for the repair. Now I have to wait more days for proper repair. Not complaining about cost, just waste of time and Mr. Appliance's avoiding facts.

Wish I would have found reviews before calling them! I knew the coil was bad but they charge $79 to come tell me the same thing and of course do not have parts with them anyways!!!! They give me the quote........it is $85 less than buying a brand new oven that is exactly the same brand & model. Thank you Lowe's for saving me. Mr. Appliance is a total rip off!!!!! They call you with a scheduled time & get pissy with YOU when they are 1 1/2 hours early and the repair guy says, " they were suppose to call you....oh well.....lets just get this over with"!!!!!!!

Terrible Service

Mr. Appliance from North Houston and Montogomery is horrible.

In a nutshell their technicians are incompetents, their customer service personnel is rude, and their management is non-responsive.

Technician was incompetent and didn't know how to run diagnostics test on a Kitchenaid Dishwasher. I questioned their diagnosis and customer service got defensive over the phone. Their management didn't even reply when I asked for their assistance.

At the end their proposed repair would have not fixed the problem.

Wasted $95 and ended up having to call Sears for proper service. Stay away from this company.
